Cetilar Racing continues to broaden its horizons

Cetilar Racing joins the Italian Formula 4. After its efforts in the FIA WEC and the 24 Hours of Le Mans, on the kart circuit (with the Cetilar Performance project launched early in the year dedicated to young drivers) and an appearance in the 2020 edition of the Dakar Rally alongside the Spanish champion Fernando Alonso, the all-Italian brand now officially enters the single-seater world.

This weekend in Monza, the Cetilar Racing brand will be racing with the AKM Motorsport team by Antonelli, driven by the sixteen-year-old Taylor Barnard. The English driver, right out of the kart world, where he raced internationally for Kart Republic, the team led by Dino Chiesa (who also discovered Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg), will be driving his single-seater with Cetilar Racing livery very similar to that emblasoned on the Dallara LMP2 n.47 in which Roberto Lacorte, Giorgio Sernagiotto and Andrea Belicchi race in the World Endurance Championships. This continuous commitment marks Cetilar Racing’s further extension in the world of motorsports.

On the Brianza circuit, Barnard will be making his second appearance in the series powered by Abarth, having made his début in Marco Antonelli’s team in the previous round at Mugello, making a positive impression and immediately obtaining a best result in eleventh place out of a total of 29 cars on the track.

“I am honoured that such a prestigious brand as Cetilar Racing has decided to support our efforts and those of Taylor Barnard in the Formula 4,” commented Marco Antonelli. “I am also pleased with this partnership with Roberto Lacorte, who is first and foremost a great sportsman and motor fan: his enthusiasm is highly contagious, and will be another reason for giving 100 percent during the weekend on the track in Monza”.

“Cetilar Racing comes from the passion and love for motor sports, and drives us to believe in and support projects with clear, shared objectives. The partnership with AKM Motorsport by Antonelli for supporting Taylor Barnard, falls perfectly within this idea,” Roberto Lacorte added, “because it involves key personalities in the motorsports world who are driven by the same spirit. And the same passion”.

“We are pleased to be able to give Taylor, Cetilar Racing and AKM Motorsport the possibility to tackle this important step in his professional growth,” Dino Chiesa concluded. “Not only is he a very fast driver, he is also a great kid, and deserves the attention of motorsports fans. It will be a pleasure to see him racing at Monza with such important colours as those of Cetilar Racing”.

The weekend in Monza officially begins on Friday with two free practice sessions. On Saturday, the two qualifying sessions and the first of the three 30-minute races, plus a round that will start at 3.15 pm. On Sunday, the second race will begin at 10 am, and the third at 3.50 pm.
