SuperNikka si aggiudica la Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup 2019

A new victory, the fourth in five entries, for the Vismara Mills 62RC SuperNikka at the Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup, the regatta organised by the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda that ended this afternoon in Porto Cervo. The Mini Maxi, equipped and helmed by the Pisan entrepreneur Roberto Lacorte, Vice President and CEO of PharmaNutra SPA, flanked in the cockpit by the Trieste champion Lorenzo Bressani and the Portuguese Olympian Diogo Cayolla, won the Mini Maxi R2 class ahead of the English boat Spectre by four points and the Hungarian Wild Joe by ten points.

Four victories, the last in today’s coastal race, and a second place out of a total of five races, an almost perfect score for SuperNikka in the Maritime Republic of Pisa Yacht Club regatta, which therefore adds to its long list of honours another success in what is the most important event of the season for Maxi Yachts. This year’s event has once again brought together more than 40 magnificent giants of the sea on the Costa Smeralda, with major international sailing stars on board.

“It was an exceptional week, in which we raced five beautiful, intense and hard-fought races, reaching what was our goal on the eve of the race: to bring SuperNikka once again to the top step of the podium”, said an enthusiastic Roberto Lacorte.“We have clearly succeeded, and it is the success of a group that works with competence and passion, a team of real people and great professionals who I will soon have the pleasure of sharing a new challenge with. Yes, this will probably be the last race with SuperNikka, a boat that has given us great satisfaction, and there could be no better way to close a cycle that has been successful from first to last”.

Having achieved this fourth success at the Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup, Roberto Lacorte is preparing to take the first steps towards a new challenge, a bigger and better-performing racing boat with which to tackle the great offshore classics around the globe, starting with the Fastnet and the Rolex Sydney-Hobart. A modern – and in many ways, futuristic – boat, currently still in its embryonic phase, which we will have the opportunity to speak about in more detail in the coming months.

The SuperNikka crew, besides Lacorte, Bressani and Cayolla, was made up of Enrico Zennaro, Andrea Fornaro, Alessio Razeto, Gill Conde, Niki Mosca, Riccardo Ravagnan, Paolo Persi Del Marmo, Lorenzo De Felice, Luciano Lippolis, Daniele Raddavero, Alessandro Orsucci, Andrea Mocchetto, Alessio Pratesi, Andrea Serpi, Fabrizio Turini and Gill Conde.
