Fernando Alonso, supported by Cetilar Racing, finishes the 2020 Dakar Rally in 13ᵗʰ place

Twice Formula 1 world champion and winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Fernando Alonso finished the 2020 Dakar Rally in 13ᵗʰ place, also winning 2ⁿᵈ place in stage 8 with Toyota Gazoo Racing.

Fernando Alonso completed his first Dakar in Saudi Arabia at the wheel of the TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Hinlux, in 13ᵗʰ place.

The twice Formula 1 world champion and twice winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, as well as reigning champion of the FIA World Endurance Championship, had a brilliant début race in the desert, taking part with the support of Cetilar Racing.

In the team with expert navigator Marc Coma in a Toyota Hilux, the Spanish champion also won 2ⁿᵈ place in stage 8. Alonso also managed to reach the “top-10” in eight out of the 12 stages in the race, fourth in the third and last stages, and second in the eighth stage, 477 km to Wadi Al-Dawasir.

Making its début along with Alonso at the Dakar was Cetilar Racing, which for this unique challenge embodied the spirit of one of the world’s toughest races, testing the Cetilar® products in extreme conditions.

The Cetilar Racing team’s next appointment is on the US circuit in Austin, for the “Lone Star Le Mans” on 22 and 23 February, the fifth round in the FIA WEC 2019/2020 season, with Roberto Lacorte, Giorgio Sernagiotto and Andrea Belicchi sharing the wheel of the Dallara LMP2 n.47.
