Niente 1000 Miglia di Sebring per Cetilar Racing

< 1 MIN 12 March 2020
Team Cetilar Racing switches off the engine alongside the FIA WEC championship, as a sign of respect to its own country that is facing a real sanitary emergency.

The all-Italian squad had already decided to not take part in the Sebring 1000 Miles, sixth out of eight FIA WEC 2019/2020 rounds which was scheduled for March 20 in Florida, despite its #47 Dallara LMP2 car has been sent there directly from Austin – where the team late last February entered the 6 Hours of COTA/Lone Star Le Mans. Cetilar Racing agrees with the decision to cancel the event due to the increasing COVID-19 outbreak and the suspension of travel from Europe to the USA.

Team Cetilar Racing will donate to the Italian health system – in these days hardly proved – the entire costs related to the American race, through the contacts linked to PharmaNutra, the company of wich the driver and Cetilar Racing promoter Roberto Lacorte is Vice-President and founder together with his brother Andrea.

The decision to stop our #47 gives a clear message of responsability and sympathy with all the people are fighting to contrast the COVID-19 in Italy and to help the national health system”, Lacorte said, “Sport is important, but now our priority is different. We need the companies like ours be responsable and take the right actions to help the others. This is the only way to overcome the problem and restart stronger”.

The #47 Dallara LMP2 of Roberto Lacorte, Giorgio Sernagiotto and Andrea Belicchi will hit the track again at Spa-Francorchamps on 24/25 April, before heading to Le Mans for the 24 Hours in the middle of June.
