Having returned to competitive activities in mid-August with the participation in the Melges 32 World League events and after that the World Championship, Vitamina Sailing is now ready for a new challenge.

The team captained by Italian businessman Andrea Lacorte, Chairman of the pharmaceutical company PharmaNutra S.p.A. founded with his brother Roberto, will be busy with the first appointment of the season in the Club Swan 36 class, the modern monotype produced by Nautors Swan which offers a new and important challenge for a team that has played a key role on the sailing scene for the past ten years.

The appointment in Marina di Scarlino covers the regattas of the Swan Tuscany Challenge, four days of races (from tomorrow to Saturday 12 September) with races among the buoys and along the coast, for the classes Swan 45, Club Swan 36, Club Swan 42 and Club Swan 50. An event organised by the Nautors Swan shipyard, replacing the Rolex Swan Cup, initially planned for the same time in Porto Cervo, Sardinia, but then cancelled due to the difficulties linked to the COVID-19 pandemic.

On board the Club Swan 36 Vitamina Cetilar, captained by Andrea Lacorte, a crew including the tactician Alberto Bolzan (replacing Gabriele Benussi), Leonardo Chiarugi, Diego Battisti, Giovanni Bucarelli, Alessandro Frizzarin and the Team Manager of Vitamina Sailing, Matteo De Luca.

Like the previous ones, the vessel will be branded Cetilar®, the innovative anti-inflammatory cream with cetylated esters (7.5% CFA) mainly for sports persons, supporting PharmaNutra’s strong presence in the sports world, including the Main Sponsorship of Parma Calcio in Serie A and Pisa Sporting Club in Serie B, the Cetilar Racing team in the World Endurance FIA WEC and in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, as well as other sporting events in the running and sailing worlds as well as in paralympic disciplines, with the Obiettivo3 team.

After the Swan Tuscany Challenge, the second event of the season will be the Swan One Design Worlds, also held in Scarlino, from 11 to 17 October, valid for the award of the Club Swan 36 world title.

“Returning to the regattas with the Melges 32 was a great signal for the whole sailing world, which is progressively returning to normal. Unfortunately the current situation in North Sardinia is difficult, so we appreciate the choice of the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda to cancel the Swan Cup, as well as the speed of the shipyard and the Club Swan class in proposing and organising an “alternative” event”, stated Andrea Lacorte, in the regatta with the colours of the Yacht Club Repubblica Marinara di Pisa. “We will be present, fully complying with the health regulations, with all the enthusiasm that always marks any competitive event, and with the Club Swan 36 this is no exception. We are ready to give our all in a class where, although beginners, we are ready to fight”.
